Micturation
As some of you may have noticed, there's been some ... upheaval on the web side of things.
Here's the deal: My ISP connection has become somewhat less reliable lately. All the web and DNS and email and everything goes through that connection. So when that connection goes down, everything stops working. Even the backup email server is on the same connection, so email will potentially get bounced back to the sender.
To fix this problem, I have…
blocked domains
I've noticed a shitload of bogus 'hits' to the site with a referer of some 'cheap pharmaceuticals online' bullshit- I've blocked the following domains/IPs in their entirety to stop this sort of thing:
69.73.166.108 – platinum.nocdirect.com
69.28.242.87 – server.myhostnet.net
64.193.62.232 – inetnoc.com
If you are trying to surf our net from one of those machines, and are managing to read this somehow, perhaps you should either not be…
CACert.org
I've begun using CACert.org for certificate-signing. This doesn't mean much to you guys, except that I guess my certificates are a little more certificate-y. You'll still need to accept when your browser tells you it doesn't recognize the signing authority, unless you go here and add CACert's root certificate to your browser.
SFTP
We've switched over to using solely SFTP for file transfer to and from the server. This means better security not only for you, our END USERS, but also us. I wrote a guide a six-year-old could understand, so nobody should be havening a hard time. SFTP like hell.
